How we select our providers
Before appearing on Swigo, every hairdresser and barber goes through a manual review. These are the documents we require before a profile is published.
Checked before going live
-
Identity document
Passport, identity card or residence permit, valid and in the applicant’s own name.
-
Right to work in Switzerland
The work permit is checked whenever nationality alone is not enough.
-
Liability insurance
A certificate of liability insurance is required at sign-up: it is what covers damage caused on site.
-
Self-employed status (AVS)
A certificate from the compensation office, when the provider works for themselves.

Hairdresser and barber in Geneva: the salon comes to you
Booking a salon appointment, travelling there, waiting around: for a lot of people, parents of young children, anyone with limited mobility, anyone with a full diary, it is the journey that makes it hard. Swigo turns that around: vetted hairdressers and barbers arrive with their equipment wherever suits you, at home, at the office or somewhere on your way. Every provider is checked by hand, with identity, right to work and liability insurance verified, before appearing on the platform.
The principle is simple
-
You tell us the service you are looking for and your postcode.
-
You compare the profiles available near you (Geneva, Carouge, Vernier, Lancy, Meyrin or elsewhere in the canton).
-
You choose the person who suits you, and the service happens at the place and time that work for you.
The payment is held when you book and is only released once the service has been carried out.
Cut, blow-dry, beard: every service, wherever you are
-
Women’s cut and blow-dry
Women’s hair covers cutting, blow-drying and styling, for a regular appointment as much as for an occasion.
-
Men’s cut and beard
The barber offers men’s cuts, beard trims and traditional shaves, with no trip to the salon.
-
Children’s haircuts
A gentle cut for children who find the salon overwhelming, somewhere they already know.
Whether it is a blow-dry before an evening out or a regular cut at home, the principle does not change: providers selected one by one, a free choice, a protected payment.
Frequently asked questions, Hair
Selection, equipment, payment: the questions that come up most often.
How are hairdressers and barbers selected?
Every application is reviewed by hand: identity document, right to work in Switzerland, certificate of liability insurance. We do not monitor profiles continuously: we check at the door, and we reopen a file whenever something is reported to us.
Does the provider bring their own equipment?
Yes: scissors, clippers, hairdryer and products. All you need is a water point and a socket. The terms are set out on each profile.
Can I choose my provider?
Yes. You compare profiles, reviews and rates, then you book the person you want. No provider is ever imposed on you.
When and how do I pay?
Payment happens online, securely. The funds are only released to the provider once the service has been carried out, so you never pay blind.
What if I am unhappy with the cut?
Every booking is on record and you can leave a review. If something goes wrong, our support team works with you and the provider to find a solution.
Am I covered if something is damaged?
A certificate of liability insurance is mandatory at sign-up: we ask every hairdresser for it, and without it the profile is not published. That insurance covers damage caused on site during the service, a colour stain on a piece of furniture for instance. Swigo is not the insurer, but we require the certificate, we check it, and we look into the dispute with you.
