Book furniture assembly in Geneva
Your flat-pack furniture assembled, adjusted and fixed to the wall, boxes flattened at the end.
- Providers vetted by hand
- You choose your provider
- Paid once the service is done
No commitment, rate confirmed before you book
What does the provider actually do when assembling your furniture?
This is the assembly of your flat-pack furniture, at your place, with the right tools: wardrobe, bed, chest of drawers, desk, bookcase, television unit. The provider follows the instructions, assembles, adjusts the doors and drawers, fixes to the wall whatever needs fixing, and leaves with the boxes flattened.
It is charged by the hour. A chest of drawers goes up in an hour, a sliding-door wardrobe can take three, and two people are often faster than one on the bigger pieces. On Swigo you choose who comes, you see their rate before booking, and the payment is only released once the work is done.

What is included, and what is not
This scope is indicative: it describes what is usually covered. Every provider adjusts their own, and you confirm it with them before booking.
-
The assembly
Wardrobes, beds, bed bases, chests of drawers and bookcases. Desks, tables, chairs and television units. Checking the parts and the fixings before starting.
-
The fixing
Anti-tip fixing for tall units, with the right wall plug for the wall. Wall mounting of shelves and units designed for it, as in handywork. Levelling the feet on an uneven floor.
-
The finish
Adjusting doors, drawers and soft-close mechanisms. Boxes flattened and packaging gathered together. Furniture put in the agreed place.
-
Optional
Dismantling before a move, or moving an existing piece, to be stated when booking.
What is not included
- Supplying and delivering the furniture
- Fitted kitchens and any connection to water, gas or electricity
- Drilling into a load-bearing wall or into tiling without the owner’s written agreement
- Replacing missing or broken parts, which is the retailer’s after-sales responsibility
- Taking boxes to the recycling centre and clearing out old furniture
- Outdoor assembly of sheds, pergolas and ground-anchored structures
Something extra to add? Many providers are happy to take on an additional task. Agree it before booking, it saves misunderstandings on the day.

-
A Geneva platform
Your data stays in Switzerland and is never sold on.
-
Vetted by hand
Identity, right to work and liability insurance checked before publication.
-
You choose
Profiles, reviews and rates side by side. Nobody is imposed on you.
-
Paid once the service is done
The amount only reaches the provider after the service.
Four situations, four ways to organise it
-
Same-day delivery
The boxes arrive in the morning, the assembly is booked for the afternoon. Just check that everything really was delivered before the provider arrives: one missing part stops the job.
-
A full move-in
Several pieces at once, often half a day with two people. This is where the hourly rate works best for you, because the travel is spread across all the work.
-
Dismantling before a move
A piece comes apart twice as fast as it goes together, as long as the parts are labelled and the fixings bagged. Plan it when you book rather than the night before the van, at the same time as the end of tenancy clean.
-
A missing or broken part
That is claimed from the retailer, it is not improvised. An honest provider assembles what can be assembled, leaves the rest on hold and comes back, rather than bodging a repair that will not last.
Assembly is the service where grouping pays off most: one trip for a single chest of drawers is expensive, half a day for a whole move-in is cheap. On Swigo you compare the profiles, reviews and rates of the providers available in your municipality, from Geneva to Carouge, Meyrin, Vernier or Lancy, and you choose yourself who assembles your furniture.
Frequently asked questions, furniture assembly
Duration, walls, boxes: the questions that come up most often.
How long does a wardrobe take to assemble?
Allow two to three hours for a three-door wardrobe, an hour for a chest of drawers or a desk, an hour and a half for a bed with a slatted base. Sliding doors and modular wardrobe systems take longer, because the adjusting matters as much as the assembly.
Do the boxes need to be delivered already?
Yes, and opened if possible. The provider checks the parts before starting: that is the moment you find out a runner is missing, and it is better to know before paying for two hours. Also clear the room, assembly takes up floor space.
Will the furniture be fixed to the wall?
Yes, whenever the manufacturer intends it, which is the case for every tall wardrobe and bookcase. The provider picks the wall plug to suit the wall. If you are renting and the fixing worries you, mention it beforehand: two filled holes on the way out are rarely a problem.
Do you only assemble furniture from one well-known retailer?
No. The principle is the same whatever the brand, from a Swedish flat pack to a chest of drawers bought online. Give the product reference or send a photo of the instructions when booking: it lets the provider estimate the time properly.
What happens to the boxes?
They are flattened and stacked wherever you want them, and that is included. Taking them to the recycling centre is not: for a large volume, arrange it with the provider when booking, or drop them off yourself.
What if a part is missing or a panel is damaged?
It is for the retailer to replace it, through their after-sales service. The provider assembles what can be assembled, leaves the rest on hold and agrees a second visit with you if needed. You only pay for the time actually spent.
