Becoming a provider

Status, insurance, how your file is reviewed, the commission.

What status do I need to work on Swigo?

You work as a self-employed provider. Swigo is a platform that puts people in touch rather than an employer: we do not pay a salary and we withhold nothing at source. In Switzerland it is the AVS compensation office that recognises self-employed status, not the platform and not its client. If you are not yet registered, we point you to the steps when your file is reviewed. See how to become a provider.

Do I need insurance to sign up?

Yes, valid liability insurance. Swigo does not provide insurance covering your work, and that is exactly why the certificate is required: without it, your profile is not published. As a self-employed provider you are also outside an employer’s accident insurance: we strongly recommend taking out personal accident cover.

How long does it take to review my file?

Allow a few working days. Every file is reviewed by someone on our team. If a document is missing, we come back to you rather than turning you down without explanation.

How much does Swigo take from my work?

23% of the amount of the service, taken at the time of payment: 20% for Swigo and 3% in Stripe payment fees. No sign-up fee, no subscription, and nothing to pay if you are not working. On a service invoiced at CHF 200, you receive CHF 154. The detailed breakdown.
