Safety and insurance
What we check, what we do not, and who pays when something breaks.
What exactly do you check before publishing a profile?
Three documents, checked by hand: a valid identity document, the right to carry out gainful work in Switzerland (Swiss nationality, B permit or C permit) and a certificate of liability insurance. A self-employment certificate from the AVS compensation office strengthens the file where one exists. Without the first three, the profile is not published. The vetting process, step by step.
What do you not check?
We do not ask for a criminal record extract or for qualifications, and we do not monitor profiles continuously. The check happens at the door. After that, it is client reviews that speak, and every report reopens the file.
Am I insured during a service?
Yes, by the provider’s insurance. A certificate of liability insurance is mandatory at sign-up: we ask for it and we check it, and without it the profile is not published. That insurance covers damage caused on site during the service. Swigo is not the insurer, but you have nothing to ask the provider for: the “Insurance verified” badge says so on every profile.
What if the provider breaks something?
Their insurance pays. Damage caused during the service falls under their liability insurance, and we require the certificate before publishing their profile. We are not your insurer: we check the cover and we look into the dispute with you, but the compensation comes from their insurance. The long answer, and its limits.
What do you do with my payment details?
Payments are processed by Stripe and TWINT, two trusted payment providers. Your bank details never pass through Swigo, which never sees them and never stores them.
